Water Security Agency Introductory QP Training Course – ONLINE (free)

Agriculture as a sector is complex and it is affected by many factors, including weather and water management. Saskatchewan is expected to experience an increase in frequency and intensity of weather-related events. As our climate continues to change, so must the design and construction of agriculture water management projects.

To ensure qualified persons have the skills they need to help producers with their water management projects, the Water Security Agency has partnered with Southeast College, to provide a dynamic and informational Introductory Qualified Persons Training course. This free 5-workshop (approx. three hours per workshop), online instructor-led course will provide learners with a better understanding of climate change, the role of adaptation in the design and construction of drainage works to manage risk and impacts, and an understanding of how science-based information and tools can be used in the design and adaptation of agriculture water management projects.

The next online Introductory QP Training Course will be offered during from May 4-13, 2021 and it consists of five virtual online sessions that are ~3 hours in length. The sessions are scheduled between 9am and 12pm for each of the five sessions.

You will be required to pre-register for this workshop, as space is limited. If you are interested in attending please send your name, and work phone number to Heather Davies at: Heather.Davies@wsask.ca, and she will add you to the attendee list.

Note: If you can’t take the May 2021 session, this course will also be offered during the following dates in 2021:

  • June 8-17, 2021 (five afternoons between 12-3pm)

If you have any questions about the online Introductory QP Training Course, please contact Heather Davies.
