SUMMARY:APEGS Spring PD Days - Time Talks and Space Speaks
DESCRIPTION:This 3-hour seminar talk will introduce you to the main concepts of nonverbal communication. By developing an understanding of the power of nonverbal communication\, you can learn to recognize and respond appropriately to the unspoken messages that surround you in your workplace. Learn how to apply this understanding to improve both how you present yourself professionally and how you understand your colleagues\, your supervisors\, and your subordinates. We will look at how we send messages through our use of space and what we are saying with the way we use time. \nThis course will be hosted on the Microsoft Teams Platform. Meeting links will be sent on March 24\, 2023. \nCertificates of Attendance will be issued to full attendance participants.  This course is eligible for Formal Activity CPD credit and is subject to the APEGS PD Days Pricing Policy. \nPresented by: Deb Rolfes and Jeanie Wills\, PhD – Ron and Jane Graham School of Professional Development \nJeanie Wills\, PhD\, is the DK Seaman Chair in Technical and Professional Communication. She teaches Negotiation and Interpersonal Communication in the Graham School of Professional Development\, College of Engineering. Her research studies how women working in male-dominated industries historically crafted identities that enabled their professional success. \nDeb Rolfes is currently on Administrative Leave from her position as the Director  of the Graham School of Professional Development and teaches the foundation communication class\, oral rhetoric\, and the peer mentorship capstone class.
