SUMMARY:University of Regina - Decarbonising Southern Saskatchewan: Impacts for Built-up Environments
DESCRIPTION:The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science is pleased to sponsor a symposium on Decarbonising Southern Saskatchewan with a focus on Buildings and the Built-up Environment. The Symposium will include presentations by City of Regina\, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science\, as well as various industrial organizations. Each presentation will be 20 minutes followed by a short 10 mins Q&A session. The goal of this gathering is to focus attention on these issues\, with the aim to move our world closer to a zero carbon future. We hope that through practical real-world assessments and through discussion\, organization\, and planning\, tangible and measurable improvements can be made to the carbon footprint. The symposium will bring up as many questions as it answers. We hope the symposium will open up a general discussion on how to progress on this urgent issue. The symposium follows a presentation by Tom Atkins (on April 5) which will introduce the symposium series which will include a set of presentations and symposia over the next year on: Built-up Environments\, Transportation\, Industrialization\, and Energy. \nClick here for more information and to register.
