SUMMARY:Government of Saskatchewan - Legislative Framework Training Workshop & Examination
DESCRIPTION:The intent of this training is to provide stakeholders with a better understanding of the legislation and regulations for successful application of the National Building Code of Canada within Saskatchewan. Following the in-class training\, an examination sitting will be administered for interested attendees on the second half of day two. Please note that the exam associated with this training is a requirement for all new and existing building officials dependent on the conditions of their building official license. \nThe objective of the Legislative Framework Workshop is to provide a better understanding of the legislation and regulations for successful application of the National Building Code of Canada. Workshop content includes: \n\nNBC 2015\, Division A\, Part 2 – Objectives\nNBC 2015\, Division A\, Part 3 – Functional Statements\nNBC 2015\, Division C – Administrative Provisions\nThe Administrative Requirements for use with the National Building Code of Canada\, 1985\nThe Construction Codes Act\nThe Building Code Regulations\nThe Energy Code Regulations\nBuilding Bylaw and Enforcement Guide c/w Model Building Bylaw\nAlternative Solutions\n\nThis workshop will provide 16 credit hours towards mandatory training hour requirements for building officials\, upon successful completion of the LFT exam for building official license renewal\, or 16 credit hours towards discretionary training upon failure of the LFT exam. Other participants can claim 16 hours of professional development upon completion not reliant on exam writing. \nWho should take this workshop? \n\nbuilding officials;\nlocal authorities;\ndesigners;\narchitects;\nengineers;\ncode consultants; and\nconstruction industry.\n\nRegistrations for Saskatoon will be processed on a first-come first-served basis.
