DESCRIPTION:Registration is closed. \nEvent Format: In-person Event \nLocation: Delta Bessborough Hotel\, Saskatoon \nHosting Organization: APEGS \nCourse Summary: Practicing the Professions Day is a new annual in-person event hosted by APEGS on October 23\, 2023\, in Saskatoon\, SK. \nEarn CPD credit by attending the following sessions: \n\nA presentation by APEGS titled “Professional Responsibilities and Standards: What You Need to Know and Do”.  This session is designed for all members who want to learn more about their roles and responsibilities as engineers and geoscientists in Saskatchewan including upcoming changes to the CPD Program.\nA buffet lunch and keynote presentation by Ramy Nassar titled “AI Ethics: Navigating Bias in the Digital Age”.  This presentation challenges participants to explore how they can gain a competitive advantage through the use of AI while ensuring that the risk of bias is minimized.\nA presentation by Tracy McArthur titled “Ethical Situations from the Perspective of the Engineer Co-op Internship Program”.  In this session\, you will hear several recent situations that co-op students have faced and potential ways that we\, as members of APEGS\, can do our ethical due diligence when these situations arise.\nA networking reception featuring 13 local regional societies and professional development organizations. Discover how they can help you further your career and make valuable connections within your industries.\n\nThis is a unique opportunity to learn\, grow\, and connect with your peers in the profession and earn CPD credits.
