DESCRIPTION:Date: November 22\, 2024 \nTime: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM \nEvent Format: Webinar \nHosting Organization: University of Regina \nEvent Summary: David Elliott (PhD\, Toronto) is a professor specializing in ethical theory\, professional ethics\, and biomedical ethics\, and also currently serves as Department Head of the Department of Philosophy and Classics. Dr. Elliott has served as ethics representative on the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s Research Ethics Board and is currently serving on the University of Regina Ethics Board. \nEldon Soifer (D. Phil\, Oxford) is a professor in the Department of Philosophy and Classics\, and also currently head of the Department of Politics and International Studies. His areas of specialization include theoretical ethics\, applied ethics (including professional ethics)\, political philosophy\, and philosophy of law. Dr. Soifer also serves on the Ethics Board for the Saskatchewan Health Authority (Regina Area)\, and has served as a consultant to the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (2008). \nCost: Free \nEvent Information: All are welcome and attendance is free but registration is required. Registered participants will be sent a zoom link on the day of the presentation.
