SUMMARY:Heat Pumps and Hybrid Heating for Saskatchewan – An APEGS Webinar - SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:Date: December 5\, 2024 \nTime: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM CST (Saskatchewan Time) \nEvent Format: Live Webinar – Microsoft Teams \nHosting Organization: Heat pumps have gained increasing attention from the media\, public\, and HVAC industry. While their principles are well understood\, their application in cold climates and the role of hybrid heating systems for effective integration are less clear. This session will offer an overview of the different types of heat pumps and hybrid heating systems\, including their benefits\, challenges\, and emissions comparisons tailored to Saskatchewan’s climate. Understanding investment costs\, operating expenses\, and building upgrade requirements is crucial for selecting long-term heating solutions. \nPresenter: Hadi Ramin is an Engineer-in-Training in Sustainable Energy Solutions at SaskEnergy. He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Iran and a Ph.D. from the University of Saskatchewan in 2021\, focusing on optimizing air-to-air energy recovery exchangers. After his Ph.D.\, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow developing thermal energy storage systems for residential use. Since joining SaskEnergy in 2023\, Hadi has been supporting customers in reducing emissions through energy efficiency and emerging technologies. \nWho Should Attend: The target audience includes engineers\, energy professionals\, building managers\, HVAC contractors\, policymakers\, environmental consultants\, and customers interested in reducing energy consumption and emissions. It will also benefit those involved in sustainability initiatives\, government programs\, and anyone looking to adopt emerging technologies like gas heat pumps and hybrid heating systems. \nGeneral Information: There is no cost to attend\, but registration is required. This webinar is eligible for Formal Activity CPD credit. \nThis event will be held live on the Microsoft Teams platform.  The meeting link will be sent by end of day on December 3\, 2024\, to the email address in which you registered for this event. \nThis webinar is now full.
