DESCRIPTION:Date: January 15\, 2025 \nTime: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM CST (Saskatchewan Time) \nEvent Format: Live Webinar – Microsoft Teams \nHosting Organization: APEGS – A Live Webinar Series Presentation \nEvent Summary: This webinar will focus on the five principles for construction standards found in provincial legislation. The documents that will be referenced will be the Construction Codes Act\, Building Code Regulations\, Energy Code Regulations\, National Building Code of Canada (NBC) and the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB). Through this overview we will highlight how the provincial legislation directly references the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act\, including the prescribed roles and responsibilities related to construction standards. \nPresenter: Peter Wotherspoon is the Chief Codes Administrator for the Province of Saskatchewan in the Building and Technical Standards Branch in the Ministry of Government Relations. Mr. Wotherspoon has 20 plus years of experience for construction including design and implementation in provincial and municipal levels of government in addition to private industry. During his career he has published or co-published various guides and advisories to develop knowledge to all stakeholders throughout Saskatchewan and currently sits on a variety of construction standards related national and technical committees. Mr. Wotherspoon possesses a Professional Technologist (P. Tech.) registration and is a Class 2 Licensed Building Official. \nWho Should Attend: This webinar will appeal to all engineers that have direct design or design review of construction standards throughout Saskatchewan. \nGeneral Information: There is no cost to attend\, but registration is required.
