SUMMARY:Affordability in the Energy Transition
DESCRIPTION:Date: October 1\, 2025 \nLocation: Confederation Inn\, 3330 Fairlight Dr\, Saskatoon \nHosting Organization: Saskatchewan Energy Management Task Force (EMTF) \nClick here for more information and to register. \n______________________________________________________________________________ \nEvent Summary: Addressing climate change means finding a path to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions throughout all sectors of the economy\, including personal transportation and home heating. While investments are required to achieve net-zero emissions\, several reports have found that households in Canada could reduce their overall expenses when they transition to cleaner options such as electric vehicles and electric heat pumps. \n______________________________________________________________________________ \nEvent Contact: Saskatchewan Energy Management Task Force | contact@emtfsask.ca \nDisclaimer: The views expressed during this event are those of the hosting organization and do not necessarily represent the views of APEGS.

SUMMARY:Part 3 Basics: Spatial Separation and Exposure Protection – An APEGS Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Date: October 1\, 2025 \nTime: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM CST (Saskatchewan Time) \nEvent Format: Live Webinar – Microsoft Teams \nHosting Organization: APEGS – A Member-Led Webinar Series Presentation \nRegistration is now closed. \n______________________________________________________________________________ \nEvent Summary: The NBC prescribes requirements for spatial separation and exposure protection to limit the spread of fire from one building to another.  These requirements can affect the overall site layout and the exterior wall construction of a building. As such\, determining the spatial separation and exposure protection requirements for a building is a critical step in the design process.  This presentation will focus on the fundamentals of spatial separation and exposure protection for buildings.  It will include a discussion on some of the Part 3 code provisions and will include an example demonstrating a basic spatial separation analysis on a wall.  It is intended to provide an awareness level understanding of the topic. \nPresenter: Felicia Campbell\, P.Eng.\, is the Director of Construction Codes and Standards with the Building and Technical Standards (BTS) Branch of the Ministry of Government Relations. She has 15 years of experience in the building industry\, and she holds both a Professional Engineer designation and a Class 3 Building Official Licence. Felicia has spent most of her career as a structural engineer and code consultant\, working on a variety of projects and guiding clients through complex technical requirements. She is excited to be with BTS in this new role\, where she looks forward to advancing code knowledge and fostering collaboration between industry\, municipalities\, and government. \nWho Should Attend: New engineers\, recent engineering graduates\, Engineers-in-Training\, Engineers who aren’t familiar with Part 3 of the National Building Code. \n______________________________________________________________________________ \nGeneral Information: There is no cost to attend\, but registration is required. This webinar is eligible for 1 verifiable Formal Activity CPD credit. \nNOTE: Clicking the ‘Add to Calendar’ button on this page does NOT register you for this event. \nThis webinar will not be recorded. \n______________________________________________________________________________ \nEvent Contact: APEGS Professional Development Department | Angela Foster or Jolene Arthur | cpd@apegs.ca \nDisclaimer: The views expressed during this event are those of the presenters and do not necessarily represent the views of APEGS.
