SUMMARY:Indigenous Inclusion Thought Leadership Series Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Strengthening Your Organization’s Indigenous Talent Strategy \nOverview \nThe low Indigenous representation in the labour force can be attributed to a number of factors including misinformation\, confusion\, and general lack of cultural competency and understanding  with regards to Indigenous citizens in Canada.  Employing Indigenous workforce talent has benefits\, but specific practices need to be acknowledged and addressed to recruit and retain Indigenous personnel. To accomplish better representation of Indigenous talent within the Canadian labour market requires an assessment of the current measures of Indigenous employment in Canada. This webinar will assist employers with promising practices to strengthen their respective Indigenous talent strategy within their organizations. \nStrategies and objectives discussed will be as follows: \n\nRecognize cultural differences that exist in traditional colonial attraction processes and how to adapt a culturally appropriate process\nBenefits to hiring an Indigenous workforce\nRetention and Advancement of Indigenous employees\n\nPlease click here to register for the webinar.

SUMMARY:SGS - A Geological Perspective of the PAK Lithium Project
DESCRIPTION:A Geological Perspective of the PAK Lithium Project \nGarth Drever \nVice-President Exploration\, Frontier Lithium \nAbstract \nFrontier Lithium is a preproduction business\, based in Sudbury Ontario\, and is targeting the production of battery-quality lithium materials to support electric vehicle production. It is developing the PAK Lithium Project in northwestern Ontario. The Project is supported by a Measured and Indicated resource of 21.64 million tonnes (Mt) averaging 1.56% lithium oxide (Li2O) and Inferred resource of 20.88 Mt averaging 1.42% Li2O. It is the highest-grade lithium deposit in North America and is the second largest by size. \nThe Project encompass 26\,774 hectares of land at the south end of Ontario’s Electric Avenue\, the largest land package hosting premium lithium-bearing pegmatites in Ontario. With the exception of the two other spodumene-bearing discoveries: the Bolt pegmatite (located between the PAK and Spark deposits)\, and the Pennock pegmatite (located 30 km northwest of the PAK deposit) it remains largely unexplored along a 65 km strike length. \nA 2021 preliminary economic assessment (National Instrument 43-101 technical report titled “Pak Property” by BBA E&C Inc.\, issued on April 5\, 2021) describes a fully integrated lithium operation from mining the resource to the downstream conversion for production of battery-quality lithium salts. The study resulted in an after-tax net present value (discounted at 8 per cent) of $974-million (U.S.) with a 21-per-cent internal rate of return. \nGarth Drever is a geologist with over 45 years of mineral exploration experience. He worked extensively with Cameco Corporation where he specialized in innovative technologies for detecting ore bodies and has worked on many uranium deposits worldwide. From 2008 until 2012 he worked with Uravan Minerals on uranium projects in Saskatchewan\, Nunavut and Northwest Territories and with Raven Minerals in Saskatchewan and Guyana. He has worked with Frontier Lithium since 2011 and was fundamental in the exploration process that led to new discoveries on the PAK Lithium Project. He holds a B.Sc in geology from the University of Regina and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan\, and the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario. \nMeeting Link \nWebinar link will be live at 11:45 am\, talk to start at 12:00 noon (Saskatchewan Time). \nYou’re invited to join a Microsoft Teams meeting. \nTitle: David Thomas’s Teams Meeting \nTime: April 7\, 2022 11:45:00 a.m. Central Standard Time \nJoin on your computer or mobile app. Click here to join the meeting.

SUMMARY:SES Technical Session - Small Modular Reactor Site Selection In Saskatchewan by Dr Enisa Zanacic
DESCRIPTION:Small Modular Reactor Site Selection in Saskatchewan: Site Selection Risk Assessment with Focus on Surface Water Availability and Dissolved Strontium Monitoring \nCurrently\, there is limited data on water resources in the province of Saskatchewan. Therefore\, the focus of the study is a province-wide assessment of Saskatchewan to identify optimal small modular reactor (SMR) site locations that are capable of providing adequate surface water for the lifecycle of an SMR power generating facility. Reports on the current and future water related stresses in the province\, completed for the Government of Saskatchewan\, (along with a water risk assessment interactive map) are cross-referenced in the province-wide site assessment. Additionally\, there was an assessment of the fate and transport of strontium in surface waters in natural environment conditions with objective to develop a model that will aid in monitoring of strontium. The findings are favorable in advising an infrastructure owner to perform risk assessment of the selected site(s) and a cost benefit analysis associated with the risks to determine the optimum site for SMR construction\, operation and maintenance. \n  \nFor more information and registration: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEud-yhrj0oHdRyhrmai6fBCOiWUa6Pq8J-?_x_zm_rtaid=z5rVTev7SZ6uo-47uGkNFQ.1647013497727.aee7a51fe182bdf59fe3ea7484afc8f7&_x_zm_rhtaid=40
