SUMMARY:The Power of Vulnerability in Leadership
DESCRIPTION:Date:     June 26\, 2024 \nTime:     12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Central Standard Time \nEvent Format:   Live Webinar – Microsoft Teams platform \nHosting Organization:    APEGS – A Professional Webinar Series Presentation \nEvent Summary:    As a leader\, how do you create a psychologically safe environment for those under your care?  It used to be that showing vulnerability as a leader was a weakness.  Not so today.  A leader who has the courage to be vulnerable\, gives permission to others she/he leads\, to be vulnerable as well.  And only when openness and authenticity become the norm in the workplace\, at home or in the community\, can healing occur.  With anxiety\, depression\, and suicide rates on the verge of reaching epidemic levels\, people are looking\, in large part\, to our societal\, business and government leaders for an answer.  What is our response to this appeal for help?  Gord Moker strongly believes that vulnerability in leadership is critical. He has come to this acceptance honestly and will share his story around the struggles he’s faced with anxiety and depression\, and how he managed to come through it\, and live an abundant life\, filled with gratitude and joy\, while keeping top-of-mind how fragile life can be\, and by not taking anything for granted. \n Presenter:  Gord Moker\, Chair of TEC Canada \nThere is no cost to attend.  This event will be held live on the Microsoft Teams platform. \nHow to Register:  Registration is now closed.  Meeting link has been emailed to all who registered. \nEvent Contact:    APEGS Professional Development Department  – Angela Foster or Jolene Arthur cpd@apegs.ca \nDisclaimer:    The views expressed during this event are those of the presenters and do not necessarily represent the views of APEGS.
