The hybrid system includes 234-kW of photovoltaics\, 492-kWh of lithium-ion battery storage and multiple redundancies to maintain a highly reliable power supply to the community\, and is currently being installed. The remotely-controlled system is expected to increase resiliency\, reach 85% renewable penetration and yield a payback of about 3 – 4 years compared to the existing 95-km single phase line that currently powers the community.
