International Mobility

If you are licensed as a professional engineer in Australia, Hong Kong or Ireland then you may be eligible for a simplified registration process with APEGS, through Professional Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs).

Professional Engineers licensed in Texas or Mexico may also qualify as a Temporary Licensee under the NAFTA agreement

If you do not qualify under an MRA or as a Temporary Licensee, then you will need to apply as an Engineer-in-Training – International Graduate.

International Mobility – Australia

This application process applies only to an engineer who has been granted the registration status of MIEAust NER or MIEAust CPEng NER by Engineers Australia. It does not include applicants granted registration through a third-party mutual recognition agreement (MRA).

International Mobility – Hong Kong

This application process applies only to an engineer who has been granted Corporate Membership by Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE) and has been admitted according to detailed assessments carried out by the HKIE. It does not apply to those granted Qualification/Licensure through a third-party mutual recognition agreement (MRA) or granted Corporate Membership by HKIE through the “Mature Route”.

International Mobility – Ireland

This application route applies only to Chartered Engineers of Engineers Ireland, CEng Ordinary Member (MIEI), who have been granted this title following successful completion of the “normal route”, including the submission of Initial Professional Development Report/Essays and participating in the professional interview as described in the Engineers Ireland Document “Regulations for the title of Chartered Engineer”.

International Mobility – Mexico

If you have a Cedula in Mexico, you may be eligible to register as a Temporary Licensee.

International Mobility – United States

If you have a Texas PE license, then you may be eligible to register as a Temporary Licensee.

If you are licensed elsewhere in the United States, or you do not qualify as a Temporary Licensee, please follow the application process for Engineer-in-Training – International Graduates.
