Event Summary
This presentation will focus on how supervisors and validators can guide a member-in-training through gaining and submitting work experience to APEGS. APEGS uses a competency-based evaluation process to assess work experience for the purpose of licensure. The skills required for professional practice span across several key competency categories, including technical competence; communication; project and financial management; team effectiveness; professional accountability; social, economic, environmental and sustainability; and personal continuing professional development.

Natasha Skea, P.Eng., APEGS Manager of Experience Assessment
Born and raised in Regina, SK, Natasha worked as a professional engineer in the HVAC industry for nine years before turning to professional regulation. Since joining the APEGS team in 2022 Natasha has been managing the experience assessment process, with a focus on streamlining assessment timelines and ensuring assessment consistency.
