Event Summary
JSGS is pleased to be hosting an upcoming public lecture on April 23, 2026, featuring Tim Stone, Chairman of the Nuclear Industry Association, and a panel of Saskatchewan experts:
- Margot Hurlbert, Canada Research Chair in Climate Change, Energy and Sustainability Policy; Professor, JSGS;
- Grant Isaac, President and Chief Operating Officer, Cameco and
- Rupen Pandya, President and Chief Executive Officer, SaskPower – to discuss this issue.
Energy systems across the world are changing at a pace and scale that few people alive today have seen before let alone made happen. Our energy systems were designed in and for an era when the mechanics of power – electrical, financial, and political – operated under more stable and predictable frameworks. We risk being prisoners of the past while designing the energy future. This lecture discusses the consequences of continuity, inertia, and change for nuclear power.
They keynote address will be followed by a panel response from Saskatchewan experts.
