Strengthening Your Organization’s Indigenous Talent Strategy


The low Indigenous representation in the labour force can be attributed to a number of factors including misinformation, confusion, and general lack of cultural competency and understanding  with regards to Indigenous citizens in Canada.  Employing Indigenous workforce talent has benefits, but specific practices need to be acknowledged and addressed to recruit and retain Indigenous personnel. To accomplish better representation of Indigenous talent within the Canadian labour market requires an assessment of the current measures of Indigenous employment in Canada.
