Regulating the professions. Protecting the public.

The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) licenses and regulates approximately 15,000 engineering and geoscience registrants in accordance with The Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act in a manner that protects both the public and the environment. Through the government of Saskatchewan, the public has granted the engineering and geoscience professionals the privilege and the responsibility of self-regulation in recognition that engineering and geoscience professionals are in the best position to assess the qualifications, competence, and conduct of those who practice engineering and geoscience in Saskatchewan.

Any professionals undertaking engineering or geoscience work in Saskatchewan must be licensed. APEGS sets admission standards for qualified people to become licensed in Saskatchewan. To remain proficient in protecting the public, those licensed with APEGS are committed to ongoing professional development and guided by the engineering and geoscience Code of Ethics. APEGS also investigates allegations of professional incompetence and professional misconduct of registrants and takes appropriate disciplinary action.

In addition to regulating registrants, APEGS takes appropriate action to prevent the unlicensed practice of engineering and geoscience and misuse of the protected titles related to engineering and geoscience by people who are not registered with APEGS.
