The purpose of the workshop is to review and provide practical examples of construction standards and how they are applied to each topic. This includes outlining the path to compliance with the National Building Code of Canada, in addition to provincial legislation (where applicable).

The Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) created the Resilient Homes Task Force (RHTF) to increase capacity of the insurance and builder industries to implement resilience practices in new homes and renovations. As climate disruptions increase, resources and approaches developed through the collaboration are meant to expedite application of resilience practices.

“Surety Bonds in Action: An Introduction to Construction Surety Bond Claims” builds upon topics introduced in “Construction Surety Bonds: A Primer for Project Engineers”. This new presentation will introduce the audience to surety bonds in action, using fictionalized case studies of construction surety bond claims.

This webinar will cover details on how to apply for registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training with APEGS, what is required as part of the application process (documents, etc.), what the possible outcomes of your application could be and what the next steps are, based on those outcomes.
